Here’s What You Should Expect From The 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric

SAUDI ARABIA : Hyundai will soon give us the 2025 iteration of its much-loved Kona electric car. So while Hyundai preps the Kona, let us quickly review what we know about it. So here are some crucial things about the Kona that you should know about

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the design of the headlight of the Kona Electric similar to?

The headlight is similar to that of the new Hyundai Verna.
  • What is the new gear lever of the Kona Electric similar to?

The new gear lever is similar to the one found in the Hyundai Ioniq.
    • In terms of range, the Kona Electric promises more than 420 km on a single charge
    • The Hyundai Kona Electric is powered by a 64.8kWh battery, one of the largest in its class
    • The Kona Electric’s headlight is similar to that we’ve seen on the new Hyundai Verna

    Hyundai Kona Electric Exterior Highlights

The Kona Electric has always been a handsome car and the 2025 iteration will be no different. There’s a flat LED headlight at the front, similar to what we have seen on the Hyundai Verna. And just like the Verna, the Kona has a great road presence as well. It’s large yet nothing too intimidating and looks futuristic, exactly what an electric SUV should look like. 1 design element that stands out the most is the large wheels, whose design does look rather attractive.

Hyundai Kona Electric Advanced Interior Technology

On the whole, the Kona Electric has gotten larger for 2025 and that includes the interior space too. Hyundai says the overall space on offer has gone up and even the space at the rear is more than before. More space is a touch of practicality that SUV owners just cannot refuse. There is even a new gear lever, something that has been picked straight off the Hyundai Ioniq. We’re not complaining though since the Ioniq is a premium car.

There are other additions on the inside too, like USB charging ports, air vents (that are adjustable), and a lot more.

    Hyundai Kona Electric Performance

Powering the 2024 Kona Electric was a 201 HP motor that also churned out a solid 255 Nm of peak torque. Our favorite thing about this engine was just how easy it was to manage at lower speeds. The throttle calibration was excellent and that made everyday commuting with the Kona rather easy. We hope the same continues with the latest generation of the car too.

In terms of outright speed and acceleration, the previous generation car did 0-60 mph in just about 7 seconds, a figure that is not bad for its segment.

Hyundai Kona Electric Launch & Availability

The Kona Electric should reach our shores towards the end of the year. And given Hyundai’s network, we think the car should reach dealerships relatively soon enough post the launch.
