If you want an electric SUV to take on the hypercar SUVs, like say the Lamborghini Urus, it does not get any better than the Lotus Emeya. The sheer performance that the Emeya has on offer is bonkers and it will smoke most sports cars, and do that in comfort given the obvious comfort an SUV would bring over a hypercar. 

In essence, it’s an extreme performance with comfort. The Lotus Emeya is Lotus’ answer to all the supercars that are currently setting world records with their 0-100kmph timing. It is essentially Lotus bringing out a Lamborghini Urus rival.  

Price :

Prices for the Emeya begin from 89,500 GBP and go up to 129,950 GBP (approximately 436,508 Riyal to 633,790 Riyal). 

Variants : 

The Emeya is on sale in 3 variants: the base variant, the Emeya S, and the Emeya R. The base variant costs 89,500 GBP (approximately 436,508 Riyal), while the Emeya S costs 101,950 GBP (approximately 497,229 Riyal). The top-spec Emeya R, meanwhile, costs 129,950 GBP, which translates to 497,229 Riyal. 

Color Options : 

The Emeya is on sale in 6 colors: Kaimu Grey, Stellar Black, Solar Yellow, Akoya White, Fireglow Orange, and Boreal Grey. 

Engine & Transmission : 

The Lotus Emeya is powered by dual electric motors, delivering all-wheel-drive capability across all models. Depending on which variant you choose, the Emeya offers two very different power outputs. 

The lower-powered version churns out a solid 603 horsepower, while the more performance-focused model ramps things up significantly, generating a staggering 905 horsepower. This higher-spec version is claimed to launch the sedan from 0 to 62 mph in a blistering 2.8 seconds, putting it in supercar territory.

The Emeya’s powertrain configurations are not just about raw power; the method of delivering that power varies as well. The 603-hp model utilizes a straightforward direct-drive transmission, a setup commonly found in many mainstream electric vehicles. However, the 905-hp version ups the ante with a more complex two-speed transmission, which allows for more efficient power delivery, particularly at higher speeds.

Features : 

Inside, the Emeya's cabin closely mirrors the luxurious feel of the Eletre SUV, though its sleeker four-door fastback design will likely result in a slightly less roomy interior. High-quality materials dominate the space, with premium finishes like faux-suede upholstery, nappa leather, and accents of genuine aluminum trim. 

The initial version of the Emeya showcased a four-seat configuration, featuring rear bucket seats for a more exclusive, sporty atmosphere. However, for those needing more seating flexibility, Lotus will offer an option with a rear bench seat, allowing room for an additional passenger.

Range : 

The Emeya comes equipped with a substantial 102.0-kWh battery pack, ensuring it has the capacity for long journeys. While Lotus hasn’t yet provided official range figures, early indications suggest that its driving range will be comparable to the Eletre SUV, which offers between 260 miles at the lower end and 315 miles as its maximum range. 

These figures place the Emeya in the same league as other electric sedans in its class, though real-world performance and efficiency will ultimately determine how it stacks up.

Best value for money : 

The mid-spec variant should be just fine for most drivers. It’s not as exorbitantly priced as the top-speed variant, but also packs enough over the base variant to justify the extra asking price. 

Alternatives  : 

The Lotus Emeya enters a competitive field of luxury electric sedans, and it faces stiff competition from some of the biggest names in the industry. Among its main rivals is the Porsche Taycan, a benchmark in performance for electric sedans. 

Another strong competitor is the Audi e-tron GT, known for its striking design and impressive driving dynamics. The BMW i5 M60 also offers a compelling alternative, blending BMW’s traditional performance with cutting-edge electric powertrains. 

At the higher end of the luxury spectrum, the Mercedes-Benz EQS and the BMW i7 stand out as formidable competitors, especially for buyers seeking both opulence and electric performance in vehicles that can comfortably seat four passengers while stretching over five meters in length.
