Zeekr is making a bold move into the hybrid market with its latest flagship SUV, the Zeekr 9X. The vehicle blends cutting-edge hybrid technology with a sleek, high-end design. It is the brand’s first venture into the plug-in hybrid sector, signifying a shift in strategy. 

With an official debut at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025 and a high-end Grand variant joining the lineup, Zeekr is positioning itself as a leader in luxury hybrid SUVs.

A New Hybrid Flagship

The Zeekr 9X is the company's first plug-in hybrid SUV, marking a strategic expansion beyond its all-electric lineup. Until now, Zeekr had focused on Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), but with shifting market demands, the brand is now venturing into hybrid technology.

In August 2024, Zeekr announced its intention to launch hybrid models, with the 9X leading the charge. It will be one of three new models planned for 2025, reflecting the company's commitment to diversifying its product range.

Advanced Technology and Performance

Zeekr is equipping the 9X with cutting-edge technology, ensuring it stands out in the luxury hybrid segment. The SUV will feature:

Introducing the Zeekr 9X Grand

The Zeekr 9X will also be available in an ultra-luxury variant known as the Zeekr 9X Grand. This exclusive model will target the premium market, continuing Zeekr’s tradition of high-end offerings.

The Grand series was first introduced with the Zeekr 009 Grand in April 2024, and the 9X Grand will follow in its footsteps. The price for this top-tier model is expected to exceed 1 million Renminbi (around 137,840 USD), making it one of the most expensive hybrid SUVs in its class.

Pricing and Market Launch

The Zeekr 9X will be officially unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2025, with deliveries starting in the third quarter of 2025. Alongside it, Zeekr plans to launch two more models before the end of the year, including a mid-to-large luxury SUV in both BEV and PHEV versions.

In the luxury hybrid SUV segment, the Zeekr 9X will compete with high-end models from brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Lexus, offering a unique mix of electrified performance and premium craftsmanship.
