Toyota Land Cruiser FJ: Rugged Pedigree Meets Contemporary Adventure

Saudi Arabia : Japanese automaker Toyota’s all-new Land Cruiser FJ has been in the news lately for its strong built quality and modern design. The teaser image showcases a boxy structure, higher ground clearance, and a flat tailgate with a stylish spare tire mounted giving its distinctive and rugged appearance. 

This off-road SUV positioned between the popular Corolla Cross and the RAV4, the Land Cruiser FJ, promises to measure 4,500 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,850 mm in height. 

Superior and improved comfort could be a key standout point of this SUV, with a quiet in-cabin experience and reduced vibration. Moreover, the SUV, targeted at enthusiasts, would come fitted with a standard four-wheel-drive system and a limited-slip differential, enabling an effortless driving experience with softer overall performance, especially during rough terrains.

Early reports indicate that the FJ will be offered with a proven and well-refined 2.7-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine. The power figures would be between 160-170 hp and 250-280  Nm of torque, assuring greater driving dynamics and thrilling performance. This engine is most likely to mirror the Hilux Champ and Prado, another popular vehicle in the company’s portfolio. The engine will get a highly durable and well-tuned 6-speed automatic transmission. Given Today’s strong presence in hybrid and all-electric powertrains, the Land Cruiser FJ getting either of those is not fully ruled out in KSA. 

Initially announced for a 2024 launch, this highly awaited Toyota Land Cruiser FJ set to make global debut in  early 2026, will follow to the Middle East with prices estimated to start at approximately $35,000 (SAR 131,000).  

Toyota with the introduction of the compact-size Land Cruiser FJ plans to bring the highly popular Land Cruiser's off-road abilities to a smaller, more affordable SUV that combines classic design characteristics with the latest technology and strong performance.
