Toyota Hilux EV’s Testing Has Begun And The Behemoth Electric SUV Will Debut In 2025
SAUDI ARABIA : Toyota is currently conducting tests for its upcoming all-electric Hilux pickup truck, slated for market release next year. These tests are crucial to evaluate the vehicle's performance across various conditions before mass production commences in Thailand by the end of 2025.
It is anticipated that the Toyota Hilux EV will feature a standard 4WD system, likely supported by a dual-battery configuration with one battery located on each axle. Upon its release, the Hilux EV is expected to directly compete with the Isuzu D-Max EV, which was unveiled at the 45th Bangkok International Motor Show. The Isuzu D-Max EV boasts a 66.9 kWh battery pack and delivers a combined power output of 177 hp and torque of 325 Nm. The Hilux EV is expected to offer similar specifications to remain competitive in this segment.
The Hilux EV was initially introduced in December 2022 as the Hilux Revo BEV concept and was projected to enter production within a year. Toyota indicated that the primary market for the electric pickup truck would be Thailand, with potential consideration for export markets as well. Despite the anticipation surrounding the Hilux EV, it is unlikely to be launched in India in the near future.
As Toyota continues to refine and develop the Hilux EV, more details regarding its specifications and features are expected to emerge closer to its official launch. This electric pickup truck marks a significant step for Toyota in expanding its electric vehicle lineup and meeting the growing demand for sustainable and efficient transportation solutions.
