Toyota Expands Its Electric SUV Lineup

Toyota is making a major push into the European battery-electric vehicle (BEV) market, announcing several new models and upgrades. As part of its plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035, Toyota is introducing a range of electric SUVs to compete in the B, C, and D-segment markets—the most competitive vehicle categories in Europe.

This expansion includes the launch of the all-new Toyota C-HR+, the Urban Cruiser, and a heavily upgraded bZ4X. These models will offer a mix of energy-efficient performance, all-wheel drive capabilities, and contemporary SUV styling, reinforcing Toyota’s commitment to delivering high-quality BEVs.

The Upgraded Toyota bZ4X

The bZ4X was Toyota’s first dedicated BEV and will receive a significant update in 2025.

• Up to 343 DIN hp (252 kW) from new, stronger electric motors.
• 22 kW onboard charger for faster charging.

All-New Toyota Urban Cruiser

The Urban Cruiser is a compact electric SUV developed from Toyota’s Urban SUV Concept introduced in 2023. Designed for urban environments, it combines powerful styling with practical interior space.

Unlike most compact SUVs, it offers a slide-adjustable rear seat system for flexible legroom and cargo space. Two lithium-iron phosphate battery options (49 kWh and 61 kWh) will be available, known for durability, safety, and cost efficiency. Customers can also choose between front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.

The All-New Toyota C-HR+

The Toyota C-HR+ is a fully electric C-segment SUV that builds on the success of the original C-HR. Over one million units of the C-HR have been sold since 2016, and this new BEV version retains its coupe-inspired styling while offering a unique body and enhanced interior space. The Toyota C-HR+ will feature:

• Two battery options (57.7 kWh and 77 kWh).
• Power outputs ranging from 167 to 343 DIN hp.
• All-wheel drive for enhanced performance.
• 416 liters of cargo space for practicality.
