Lexus has unveiled the 2025 RZ, a battery-electric luxury SUV that embodies the brand's commitment to innovation and performance. Building upon its electrification vision, Lexus introduces significant enhancements to the RZ lineup, including advanced technologies and the debut of the high-performance RZ 550e F SPORT model.
Comprehensive BEV System Enhancements
The 2025 RZ features a thoroughly revised battery-electric system designed to improve both practicality and driving pleasure. Key upgrades include:
- New eAxle and motor efficiency: The introduction of an improved eAxle enhances motor output and inverter efficiency.
- Increased battery capacity: A new 77.0 kWh lithium-ion battery replaces the previous 71.5 kWh unit.
- Enhanced cooling system: The adoption of water cooling for the battery and BEV system ensures optimal performance under various driving conditions.

These technical advancements enable the RZ to offer three power options:
- RZ 350e: 224 DIN hp (165 kW).
- RZ 500e: 380 DIN hp (280 kW).
- RZ 550e F SPORT: 408 DIN hp (300 kW)
Additionally, the all-wheel-drive RZ's towing capacity has doubled, now capable of pulling braked loads of up to 1,500 kg.
Extended Driving Range and Reduced Charging Times
The enhancements to the RZ's powertrain have led to a significant increase in driving range. Provisional data indicates an improvement of up to 100 km, depending on the model and final homologation. This extension is attributed to the increased battery capacity and optimized control systems.
Charging efficiency has also been improved. The new 22 kW AC onboard charger and a battery pre-conditioning function facilitate faster charging, reducing time by approximately 30 minutes.
Innovative Steer-by-Wire System
The 2025 RZ is the first Lexus model to incorporate a steer-by-wire system, offering a novel driving experience with smooth, intuitive operation. Key features include compact steering wheel design, precise control, and adaptive steering ratio.

The new RZ lineup includes the RZ 550e F SPORT, a performance-oriented variant that delivers an exhilarating driving experience. Notable features include:

The 2025 Lexus RZ is set to launch in Europe from autumn 2025. While official pricing for the RZ 550e F SPORT has not been announced, it is expected to be positioned competitively within the luxury electric SUV segment.
