2025 GMC Terrain Compact SUV: Bolder and Big on Tech

SAUDI ARABIA : The next-generation version of the compact crossover SUV comes with bolder looks and new-age features, carrying the same powertrain.

• The GMC Terrain is a muscular compact SUV featuring C-shaped LED headlamps, rectangular grille and C-shaped tail lamps.
• The 2025 model comes with significant changes inside, with new 15-inch touchscreen infotainment, 11-inch digital driver display, heated seats, remote start, 15 driver assistance systems, etc.
• The car is driven by a powerful 1.5L turbocharged engine producing 175 hp and 275 Nm torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. 

Introduced in 2018, the GMC Terrain underwent a refresh in 2022 and has remained GMC's top-selling SUV in the first half of the year. Building on its enduring popularity, GMC has now unveiled an updated 2025 Terrain SUV, which will serve as the standard model. The SUV is expected to be launched in Saudi Arabia in January 2025.

Muscular Styling

At first glance, the 2025 GMC Terrain's exterior design may appear unchanged, but a closer look reveals several significant updates. The distinctive C-shaped LED headlights remain intact, but the front end has been revamped with a larger, more rectangular grille and a sharper and more angular front fascia.

The Terrain's profile has also been tweaked, with new 19-inch aluminium wheels and a revised C-pillar that features a forward-leaning angle, reminiscent of Chevrolet Equinox. The rear end has been updated with straighter lines and vertically stacked reflectors, while the C-shaped tail lights have been downsized. 

The rear windows have been enlarged, improving visibility, and a new dual-tone roof option is now available, highlighting the vehicle's floating roof design.

Tech-loaded Interiors

The interior of the 2025 GMC Terrain has undergone a significant transformation, with a prominent 15-inch portrait-styled touchscreen dominating the dashboard, paired with an 11-inch digital instrument cluster. All Terrain models come equipped with a range of advanced features, including 15 driver assistance systems and integrated Google Assistant, ensuring a seamless and connected driving experience.

Standard creature comforts include heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and remote engine start. The car also comes with a panoramic sunroof and 60:40 rear folding seats for more cargo space and versatility. 

Both wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay remain onboard, while there are also upgrades including a power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, a 5G hotspot, and eight exterior cameras, significantly enhancing the Terrain's visibility and convenience.

Engine and Performance

Mechanically, the 2025 GMC Terrain remains largely unchanged, with the same 1.5L four-cylinder, turbocharged engine making 175hp and 275 Nm of torque. The engine which is the same working in Chevrolet Equinox, is linked to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Notably, the 2025 Terrain will initially be available with all-wheel drive as standard, but GMC has plans to introduce a front-wheel drive variant in the future.

Launch Date and Pricing

The 2025 GMC Terrain is expected to be launched in the Middle Eastern markets in early 2025. The price range could start from approximately SAR 120,000 which makes it a viable contender against cars like Volkswagen Tiguan, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V.
