The entry-level compact luxury crossover has created interest all around with its sleek styling and affordable pricing, and could be soon launched in the Saudi Arabian market, following the announcement of sibling Lyriq for the UAE market. 

    Exterior Styling

    The 2025 Cadillac Optiq looks smart, especially from the front. With balanced proportions, the styling highlights the sporty stance as the overhangs are relatively short for a crossover cum SUV of this size. The front features a signature black crystal grille with laser-inscribed pattern and LEDs, sleek vertically aligned LED lighting and a glossy black bumper.

    The car comes with 21-inch alloy wheels while the rear profile featuring acoustic glass has a distinctive design, with a complex pattern. The heavily slanted window is flanked by vertical LED bars with a vented spoiler above and a small duck-tail spoiler beneath. The main tail lights are attached behind the transparent glass module.

    Comfort and Safety

    The cabin of Optiq is loaded up to the gills with the main highlight being the large 9K resolution 33-inch curved display on the dashboard. The display is identical to the one in other Cadillac models, including Lyriq, serving as a digital gauge cluster and infotainment.

The passenger space at the front and rear is plenty for four adults. The Optiq will come with features such as Google Maps Navigation, a WiFi hotspot, a 19-speaker AKG stereo system, a panoramic glass roof and heated & ventilated front seats.

    In the safety department, the car is expected to come with Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology, apart from Driver Attention Assist, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Changing Assist, Enhanced Automatic Parking and Blind Zone Steering Assist.

    Powertrain and Range

    Power to run comes from the dual-motor electric powertrain that works with an 85kWh battery to produce 300hp. The estimated range will be up to 482 kms and as the vehicle is based on the 400-volt architecture, DC fast-charging would be limited to 150kW, which means a 127 km range can be added in about 10 minutes. 

    Cadillac OptiqHowever, Level 2 AC charging will come as standard in the form of an 11.5kW charger, which means every 1 hour of charging should add 53 km of range. In the same time frame, with a 19.2kW charger, one can juice up the battery for running the car up to 88 kms.

    Launch Date, Pricing and Rivals

    The new Cadillac Optiq is expected to be launched in late 2024 or early 2025. While the exact pricing is yet to be announced, it is likely to come with a starting price of around $55,000 (approx. 206,000 SAR). The Optiq crossover will be competing against EVs like Jaguar I-Pace, Tesla Model Y, Mercedes-Benz EQB and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
