What’s New in the Chevrolet Suburban 2025: A Detailed Overview

Saudi Arabia is not a place that’s alien to large SUVs. In fact, it’s a region that loves its body-on-frame SUVs and trucks in equal measure. This explains how legacy American brands could capitalize on this market with such ease – much to the joy of Saudis. The Chevrolet Suburban has been a staple in KSA, a workhorse in many ways.

With the arrival of the Suburban 2025, Chevy hopes to make its SUV’s position even stronger in Saudi Arabia. The Chevrolet Suburban 2025 will be available in three main variants in Saudi Arabia: LS, LT, and Premier. At present, the starting price of the Chevrolet Suburban 2024 in KSA is SAR 246,800 for the base LS variant. Meanwhile, the top-end Premier variant is priced at SAR 336,200. The prices of the Suburban 2025 variants will be higher than these.

Exterior

Chevrolet has given the Suburban 2025 a brand-new face – one that’s more character-appropriate for such a large car. It looks bolder and more aggressive than before due to its tall vertical facade. The design of the headlights is new, plus they’re placed lower down in the bumper. The new LED DRLs are stylish, too.

Chevy hasn’t tinkered much with the side profile of the Suburban 2025, but it presents itself well. This could partly be due to the new designs for alloy wheels that range in size between 18 and 22 inches. The revised but boxy rear-end appears polished and well-proportioned, and has new exhaust tips. Also, the redesigned signature LEDs in the taillights look rather nice.

The Suburban 2025 will be available with either chrome or black exterior highlights. Where the traditional chrome option looks upscale and expensive, the all-black trim sprinkles modernity and sportiness to the mix. The Suburban 2025 with the black exterior package also gets Chevrolet’s bowties finished in black, which adds to its badass appeal.

Depending on the market, the Suburban 2025 is offered with two new exterior colors – Cypress Gray and Lakeshore Blue Metallic. It measures over 5.7 meters in length, over 2 meters in width, and over 1.9 meters in height. With a wheelbase of over 3.4 meters and a luggage capacity well north of 1,000 liters, this SUV’s stats remain impressive.

Interior

Another area where Chevrolet has made suitable changes to the Suburban 2025 is on the inside. The interior design is refreshingly modern and premium, consisting of finer materials and more quality touchpoints than the older model. On the other hand, there are a lot more buttons and dials in this cabin, which can be overwhelming for some folks.

The new steering wheel is smaller, but it gets soft leather & piano black trim plus a new gear selector. There’s more piano black in this cabin and what Chevrolet is calling “Galvano chrome.” That’s just a fancy way of saying “chrome-plated.” To the left of the steering wheel is a set of buttons/dials, including one for the electronic handbrake.

The new digital driver’s display is 11 inches across while being bright and feature-rich. To the right of this is the new and massive 17.7-inch infotainment display, far larger and better than the unit in the previous model. It’s canted towards the driver for improved reach and usability, while packed with connected-car tech and other up-to-date features.

At the bottom of this display are on-screen buttons for the climate control system and seat heating/ventilation. Chevrolet has thankfully retained physical dials to control the cabin temperature. The touchscreen also has a physical dial for controlling the volume of the sound system. The Suburban 2025’s infotainment system supports built-in Google apps, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, etc.

Making this interior even better is the panoramic sunroof, LED lighting, a hands-free tailgate, rear entertainment screens, and plenty of storage options. There’s a wireless charging pad up front, along with multiple USB charging ports all around the Suburban’s cabin. Climbing in and out of this SUV could still be a bit of a faff, though.

Engine and performance

The Chevrolet Suburban 2025 will be available in Saudi Arabia with two V8 petrol engines. The first option is a 5.3-liter eight-cylinder that proposes 355 hp and 518 Nm of torque. The lower variants will be rear-wheel drive, with higher variants getting four-wheel drive as standard. Regardless, both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The second engine option with the Suburban 2025 is a 6.2-liter eight-cylinder that pumps out 420 Hp and 623 Nm of torque. Despite the promising ‘EcoTec’ title, neither of these naturally-aspirated V8 engines are particularly economical. Select markets get adaptive air suspension with Magnetic Ride Control, which can read the road surface 1,000 times per second.

This provides the 2.7-ton Suburban with a ride that’s comfortable without comprising body control around corners. Slamming the throttle often will not only deplete the +90–liter tank quickly but also have the V8 chattering merrily. The Suburban 2025 should clock a top speed of around 185 kmph, while crossing 100 kmph in about 6.5 seconds.

Safety

The Chevrolet Suburban 2025 is available with several trailer-friendly features and a maximum towing capacity of up to 3,800 kg. Some of these nifty features include Trailer Tire Health Monitoring, Forward Path Indication, Trailer Navigation assist, etc. These will not only make towing your trailer easier but also safer, thereby reducing stress.

The Suburban 2025 gets IntelliBeam headlights, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist, etc. There’s also adaptive cruise control, 360-degree cameras, automatic parking assist, a 15-inch head-up display, and at least 8 airbags. Then there’s the sheer size of the Chevy Suburban, which provides its own sort of security.
