Upcoming 2025 BMW M5 Packs more Firepower

SAUDI ARABIA : The most powerful iteration of the 5-series sedan is expected to hit the market in November 2024 with a new hybrid powertrain and updated feature list.

• The latest equipment onboard includes a new curved display, 4-zone climate control, heated seats, and a 360-degree camera, among others.

The new generation BMW M5 super saloon is set for a grand launch later this year. The latest version gets a complete overhaul in terms of styling, interiors and performance.

Sharp Styling

The upcoming BMW M5 looks menacing from all angles, with more angular proportions, cuts and creases across the exteriors. The signature kidney grille gets a glossy black finish with an all-new LED headlight setup similar to the standard 5-series.

Turning to the side, the sedan features 20-21-inch M Light alloy wheels with carbon-fibre ORVMs. For a sportier and unmatched look, the rear lip spoiler has been given the same carbon-fibre treatment, along with a quad-exhaust setup.

Elegant Interior with Updated Equipment

The interiors of the new BMW M5 are in line with the current design philosophy. The elegant appeal is enhanced by sportier seats, carbon-fibre embellishment, door panel trims and M-specific ambient lighting elements. Then there is a large curved display with a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen packed with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. 

The infotainment which also supports voice commands, runs on the brand’s latest operating system. The sedan further gets a head-up display, wireless charging, heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, 4-zone climate control and a premium Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system as part of the package.

In the safety department, the all-new BMW M5 gets an adaptive suspension setup with electronically controlled dampers that alter driving dynamics to suit individual driving preferences. The sedan also features ABS, ESC, 360-degree camera with park assist and ADAS package, which includes lane keep warning, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control and emergency braking, among others.

Solid powertrain with plug-in hybrid tech

The heart and soul of the 2025 BMW M5 is the new V8-hybrid combo. The powerful 4.4-litre engine, when combined with an 18.6 kWh battery, generates 727PS and 1000Nm, paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The hot sedan takes just 3.5 seconds to reach from 0-100km/h, with a limited top speed of 250 kmph, which can be further tweaked to reach 305 kph by opting for the M Driver's package.

For a fascinating driving experience, the multiple driving modes provided in the suite let the front axle disengage and transfer all the energy to the rear wheels with the Dynamic Stability turned off. The car can also run in pure electric mode up to 69 km (WLTP cycle). The battery can be charged by a 7.4kw AC charger.

Launch Date, Pricing and Rivals

The 2025 BMW M5 is set for a global launch in November 2024, which may also include markets like UAE and KSA. The powerful sedan comes at a price of SAR 555,000 and rivals the Audi RS7 and Mercedes Benz E63 in its segment.
