Mazda Introduces EZ-6 as Electric Vehicle for China
SAUDI ARABIA : Mazda partnered with Changan Mazda to unveil the all-new EZ-6 electric car at China's Auto China show. This sedan takes the place of the gasoline-powered Mazda 6 and boasts multiple options.
Drivers can choose between a plug-in hybrid and a pure battery-electric (BEV) version. The BEV is expected to have an impressive range of around 373 miles (600 kilometers). More technical details on both variants are on the way. There are rumors the plug-in hybrid might act as a range extender, using its gasoline engine to charge the battery while driving.
The EZ-6 features a fresh design with unique retractable rear wings and stylish headlights flowing into a wide grille. It blends Mazda's signature design ("Kodo-Soul of Motion") and driving experience ("Jinba-Ittai") with Changan's advanced electric technology, promising a delightful and refined ride.
Luxury abounds inside the EZ-6 with features like comfy zero-gravity seats, customizable lighting with 64 colors, a large 14.6-inch infotainment system, a sprawling panoramic sunroof, and a premium 14-speaker Sony sound system.
Scheduled for a Chinese launch by year's end, the EZ-6 marks a big step forward in Mazda's electric vehicle push. Success in China could pave the way for the EZ-6 to be introduced in other markets eventually.
