Lamborghini Huracan Successor Teased Right Before Official Launch
SAUDI ARABIA : We finally have a date! August 16 is the day Lamborghini will give us the successor of its much-loved car, the Huracan. In terms of outright power, the Huracan could boast an output of close to 900HP! More about it here:
KEY TAKEAWAYS
What engine will power the new Lamborghini Huracan?
The new Huracan will be powered by a 4.0-liter V8 plug-in hybrid twin-turbo engine, paired with 3 electric motors. What design changes can we expect in the new Huracan?
The new Huracan is expected to have a sharper design, with hexagonal daytime running lights, sharper air intakes, and central exhausts.- The new-gen Lamborghini Huracan will be powered by a monstrous V8 making more than 888PS
- The 4.0-liter V8 mill will be paired with 3 electric motors to give the Huracan the best of both worlds
- We expect certain design revisions for the Huracan as well
Exterior Highlights
In terms of the design changes, we expect the new Huracan to be sharper than before. Yes, the current Huracan is already quite a sharp-looking car, but we expect Lamborghini to take things a step further. Rumors say that the car’s daytime running lights will now be hexagonal. But on the whole, the updated Huracan will still maintain Lamborghini hypercars’ iconic outline, maintaining the sense of familiarity that people have with Lamborghini cars.
Other changes will include sharper air intakes for better breathing as well as aesthetics. And finally, we think Lamborghini could opt to go for central exhausts for the new generation Huracan.
Interior Technology
We suspect the new Huracan’s interiors will be on the lines of what we’ve seen in the new Revuelto. There will likely be a nearly 9-inch vertically-stacked console in the middle along with a drivers’ console (the size of which will likely be more than 12 inches). And finally, Lamborghini will also offer a dedicated screen for the passenger as well.
Engine Options
The current Huracan is powered by the monstrous 5.2-liter V10 engine which is naturally aspirated. That said, the new car will likely ditch this for a more efficient V8 mill. This new plug-in hybrid twin-turbo engine makes about 888PS and a solid 729 Nm. The teaser video showed the upcoming Huracan revving past 10,000rpm. Now that’s exciting!
This engine will be paired to as many as 3 electric motors and the transmission will be an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. That said, the overall output, as boggling as it sounds, is still a fair bit less than the Revuelto, which churns out more than 1000PS.
Launch And Availability
August 16 is when Lamborghini will officially launch the new generation Huracan. After the global unveil, the car will likely reach the European markets first, post which it could make its way to some other countries, including the UAE. We expect the new generation Huracan to cost a fair bit more than the older one, given how much more it’ll pack.
