Kia introduces the EV5 electric SUV in Morocco

SAUDI ARABIA : The EV5 aims to be your practical everyday electric car.  The Kia Middle East and Africa have officially revealed the Kia EV5 electric SUV in Rabat, Morocco. This move by Kia will accelerate the electric vehicle mobility adaptation in the region and will offer more options for customers to choose from the already diverse Kia line-up. The event was attended by more than 100 media representatives and fleet companies from 9 markets in the region. 

Kia EV5: Dimensions

Korean electric-powered SUV, Kia EV5 gets very practical yet appealing dimensions. The five-door, although under 5-metre long, however, possesses ample space inside, thanks to classy space-saving engineering.

Kia EV5: Powertrain Configuration

The Kia EV5 Light, Air, and Earth Long Range variants are equipped with a single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor (2WD) that delivers a maximum output of 217 horsepower (160kW) and 310 Nm of torque. The top-of-the-line Earth Exclusive AWD has dual electric motors producing 308 horses (280kW) and 480 Nm. All the variants have an electronically-limited top speed of 185 kph.

The Light and Air variants have a 64.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack that provides a 400km WLTP range. Whereas, the Earth Long Range and Earth Exclusive AWD get a bigger 88.1kWh battery pack delivering a 540 km and 500 km range, respectively.

Kia EV5: Exterior Design & Features

The Kia EV5 is a mid-size 5-seater SUV that features a boxy yet rugged and minimalist design. The electric SUV has a commanding stance and sports the Kia’s updated ‘Tiger face’ front design. It has LED lights all around including LED DRLs and LED fog lights. It also has a rear spoiler with a stop lamp, automatic sensor front wipers, and flush door handles. 

The EV5 Light and Air variants are fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels and 225-section tires. On the other hand, the Earth Long Range and Earth Exclusive AWD have bigger 19-inch wheels with 235-section tires.

Kia EV5: Cabin Comfort & Features 

The new Kia EV5 has a spacious and luxurious cabin which seats 5 people. The lower variants get a partial cloth and artificial leather seat, and the higher variants get an artificial leather seat.
