BMW Expands X3 Lineup with Long Wheelbase Version, Designed for the Chinese Luxury SUV Segment

SAUDI ARABIA : BMW has officially announced the long-wheelbase version of its X3 model, which the luxury car maker has designed specifically for the Chinese market. With this new variant, the premium automobile manufacturer enhances its X3 lineup with additional comfort and interior space. Thus, BMW continues to cater to the rising demand for more luxurious SUVs in China.

 

• The new BMW X3 L will offer two powertrain choices, including a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 190 horsepower and a more potent variant generating 258 horsepower

• The BMW X3 L will be manufactured at the Shenyang facility of BMW in collaboration with Brilliance Automotive

 

 The new BMW X3 L brings a notable increase in interior space and comfort. BMW has designed this model to meet the evolving demands of the country’s luxury SUV market. The X3 measures 4,865mm in length, which is 110mm longer than the standard model. Eventually, passengers will appreciate the additional legroom and comfort in this car.

Powertrain and Driving Experience

The BMW X3 L will be available with two engine options. Both of them can be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Automotive enthusiasts in China are bracing up for a smooth and responsive driving experience. The base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers 190 horsepower. On the other hand, the upgraded variant is designed to offer 258 horsepower. Both these options come with all-wheel drive to ensure optimal stability and traction.

Design and Features

The X3 L features the M Sport design package in higher trims. The long-wheelbase model, therefore, gets a sporty edge. Some of the standard features across all the variants include an illuminated kidney grille and the BMW Curved Display. Buyers can choose from six color options, including Frozen. Inside, it comes with the BMW interaction bar on the dashboard and a flat-bottom steering wheel. All these features significantly enhance the overall driving experience. 

Production and Availability

The new X3 L will be produced at the Shenyang facility of BMW, and the brand will collaborate with Brilliance Automotive for the partnership. The manufacturer hasn’t yet disclosed whether it will sell the model outside China. Nevertheless, the X3 will strengthen BMW’s presence in the growing luxury SUV segment in China.
