Toyota Camry 2025: Variants Explanation

The Toyota Camry 2025 was launched by Abdul Latif Jameel Motors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in August 2024. The ninth-generation Camry is based on the TNGA-K platform and is internally referred to as the XV80. As one of the best-selling midsize sedans in the world, the Camry is hugely popular in this region as well.

It competes with cars such as the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, and Mazda 6 among others. There is a Camry for almost everyone, spread across multiple variants and price points. The Toyota Camry 2025 brings with it several important updates that make it a highly competitive package.

Variant overview

The Toyota Camry 2025 is available in KSA in 7 variants, separated by two engine options. The 2.5L ICE model includes the entry-level E variant at SAR 105,340 and the mid-tier LE variant at SAR 117,070. Meanwhile, the fully-loaded Grande comes in at SAR 140,990. Camry customers can also choose from the 2.5L HEV (or Hybrid) variants.

The entry-level Camry Hybrid E HEV variant starts at SAR 106,605, with the E Plus HEV priced at SAR 111,550, and the LE HEV at SAR 120,060. As for the range-topping Camry Lumiere HEV, it costs SAR 149,500. These prices do not include registration or insurance costs, but they are inclusive of 15% VAT.

Engine specs

The Toyota Camry 2025 in the Saudi market is offered with two petrol-fueled engines. As mentioned earlier, one is purely an internal combustion unit and the other is a hybrid. Toyota is a leader the world over in the field of hybrid-fuel solutions, and this new Camry is no exception.

But first, let us look at the engine specifications of the ICE Camry. Under the hood is a 2.5-liter petrol four-banger that produces 201 hp at 6,600 RPM and 240 Nm of torque between 4,000–5,000 RPM. An 8-speed torque-converter automatic handles transmission duties while being reliably smooth and unintrusive in its operation.

The ICE Camry is capable of clocking over 190 kmph, while sprinting from 0 to 100 kmph in around 9.5 seconds. It is not the fastest midsize sedan in the segment, but its naturally-aspirated engine is extremely reliable and rarely feels strained. Then there is the fuel economy, which Toyota claims is 17.9 kmpl (5.5 L/100 km), respectable for sure.

With that out of the way, it is time we look at the Camry HEV or Camry Hybrid. It wins the fuel economy game outright, posting a mind-blowing figure of 27.7 kmpl (3.6 L/100 km). The Camry Hybrid sports a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, but one that is paired with a permanent magnet electric motor and a 1 kWh lithium-ion battery.

The petrol engine on its own develops 221 Nm of torque between 3,600–5,200 RPM. The total power output of the Camry Hybrid stands at 226 hp. Unlike the ICE Camry, this hybrid version is equipped with a continuously variable transmission to maximize the powertrain’s efficiency. It should reach 100 kmph in 9 seconds and max out at 200 kmph.

Dimensions

The Toyota Camry is slightly smaller than the Honda Accord in terms of absolute dimensions. However, looking at it in person does not quite reveal that, mainly owing to the former’s typical three-box design. On the contrary, the Camry 2025 looks a touch bigger than its Honda counterpart due to the latter’s sleeker coupe-like design.

As for its dimensions, the Toyota Camry 2025 measures 4,920 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width and 1,445 mm in height. The top-spec Camry Grande and Camry Lumiere HEV variants come with stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, though the base E variants have to make do with 16-inch wheels. These are Attitude Black Mica, Platinum White Pearl, Silver Metallic, Precious Bronze, Dark Blue Mica, Emotional Red, and Precious Metal. While most of these shades are free, the Precious Metal color is a paid option.

Which Toyota Camry Variant Should You Buy?

While both the 2.5-liter petrol engines are reliable, the Hybrid (HEV) powertrain is the quietest and most frugal. Moreover, the electric motor in the Camry Hybrid ensures extra performance when you put your foot down. From variant to variant, the hybrid version also guarantees additional features.

The LE and LE HEV variants look like great value options, offering plenty of standard equipment.
