Unlike similar mass-market automakers, Mazda is slowly evolving into an entry-level luxury car brand. The Japanese marque has always emphasized the importance of quality over quantity, and with new models like the CX-30, it is well on its way to becoming one. Mazda has enjoyed success amongst the younger demographic, something that is bound to continue with the CX-30.

The Mazda CX-30 2025 competes with cars like the Nissan Kicks, Kia Sonet, Toyota Corolla Cross, and Hyundai Kona. Many of the CX-30’s rivals boast lower price tags, but then again, none of them are positioned as entry-level luxury cars.

Important aspects of the Mazda CX-30 2025

While cost-cutting is apparent in the base variants of most mass-market cars, the same does not apply to the CX-30. Playing ball to Mazda’s upmarket ambitions, even this entry-level SUV is barred from showcasing obvious signs of money-pinching. The quality of the paint used on the outside and its finish are both excellent – the premium feel starts here.

The gently sloped hood leads to an easily recognizable Mazda grille, flanked by slim projector headlamps. The fuss-free but effective design of the front bumper deserves appreciation, and so does the rakish stance of the CX-30. Its athletic appearance conveys the brand’s sporty intentions clearly whilst amalgamating purposeful sophistication within the design.

The pronounced haunches house dapper 18-inch alloy wheels that further drive home the CX-30’s unabashed sporty design theme. Its compact but well-proportioned rear doesn’t try too hard to make the CX-30 appear bigger than it actually is. The Mazda CX-30 is 4,395 mm long, 1,795 mm wide, and 1,540 mm tall.

The Mazda CX-30’s interior is compact and sporty in its layout and design. Those seated in the front get enough room to stretch out though outright space is limited. The rear of the cabin feels tighter and the seats here are best suited for two adults. While headroom is fine, legroom might be an issue for taller passengers.

One of the most valuable assets of the CX-30 is its impeccable build and the high-quality of materials used. The fit & finish sure feels like an entry-level luxury car. The design is straightforward and functional with well-dampened controls and a cozy overall environment. Even the digital speedometer is crisp and easy to read, fitting the analog theme well.

The Mazda CX-30 has a boot capacity of 422 liters, which is good for a vehicle in this segment. The CX-30 sold in Saudi Arabia gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine producing 155 hp and 200 Nm of torque. It can be had with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, though a 6-speed automatic gearbox is standard across the range.

The Mazda CX-30 claims a fuel consumption figure of 16.1 kmpl or 6.2 L/100 km. Meanwhile, the CX-30 has a top speed of over 190 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a smidgen over 9.5 seconds.

Variants of the Mazda CX-30 2025

    Mazda MX-30 Core FWD

The Mazda CX-30 Core is the base variant and is priced at SAR 95,450 in Saudi Arabia. The high starting price is accompanied by a long list of standard features that buyers would readily welcome. These include automatic LED headlights, auto-folding ORVMs, an electric sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and LED cabin lighting as standard.

The Core variant also gets push-button start, cruise control, a 7-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a rear armrest with cupholders, Sport mode, and an electric parking brake with auto hold. Some of the safety gear includes dynamic stability control, traction control, TPMS, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and 7 airbags.

Mazda offers the CX-30 with other safety features such as rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and a seatbelt reminder. All variants come with concealed front wipers that add to the style quotient of this car. Similarly, 18-inch alloy wheels are standard across all variants of the Mazda CX-30.

Even though the base variant is front-wheel drive, it gets Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus) technology. It works by manipulating the brakes and the engine torque to ensure stability while going into and coming out of corners without any driver intervention.

Mazda MX-30 High AWD (Black Seats)

Costing SAR 117,300 and despite the ‘High’ in its title, this is the middle variant of the Mazda MX-30. The first thing to note here is the “Black Seats” moniker, which points towards the black Nappa leather seats. Speaking of, the driver’s seat in this variant is power-operated and has a memory function as well.

The High (Black Seats) variant gets adaptive headlights with automatic high-beam control, a head-up display, and front parking sensors. There is an attention-alert system for the driver and lane-departure warning, plus lane-keeping assist as well. Meanwhile, the radar-guided cruise control system comes with pedestrian detection along with front & rear collision alert and emergency braking assist.

The power-folding ORVMs now get a memory function too, while the IRVM has an auto-dimming feature. There is added convenience with the integration of a powered tailgate and rain-sensing wipers. The door handles have a touch sensor for the ‘smart entry’ system and the instrument cluster comes with a 7-inch MID.

As for the infotainment display, it has been upgraded to a larger 10-inch screen with sharper graphics and a built-in navigation system. The leather-wrapped steering wheel of this mid-variant gets paddle shifters, while the audio system is now an 8-speaker premium unit by Bose. Of course, you also get all-wheel drive with this variant of the CX-30.

Mazda MX-30 High AWD (Terracotta Seats)

Priced at a lofty SAR 121,900 is this range-topping variant of the Mazda CX-30. For starters, the ‘Terracotta’ bit stands for the partially tan Nappa leather seats, where the middle portion is finished in black, and that is about it. There are a couple more features offered with this High variant apart from just the new upholstery color.

On the outside, Mazda has replaced all the silver and some of the body-colored parts with a gloss black trim. The latter includes the ORVMs, while the former includes the grille surrounds and alloy wheels. A portion of the headlights have also been blacked out, making the front end look even more aggressive.

The new interior theme aside, the only notable inclusion comes by way of the upgraded Bose audio system, which now features 11 speakers. On the safety front, the top-end Mazda CX-30 adds front cross-traffic alert and 360-degree cameras.

    Conclusion

There is no doubt that the Mazda CX-30 is a premium offering with pricing to match. If you are fine with that part, choosing which variant of the CX-30 to purchase becomes quite an easy affair as there are just three of them. The base variant offers all the basic features (and then some) to please most buyers.

However, if you step up to the mid-spec High (Black Seats) variant, you not only get all-wheel drive but also plenty of cool gadgets. This variant will be the one to recommend for those who want to strike a balance between features and cost. For perspective, you will save 4,600 riyals by not upgrading to the top-spec car.

If you are adamant about the 360-degree cameras, 11-speaker audio system, and tan seats – the top-spec variant will be it. Check out all the variants of the Mazda CX-30 2025 at your nearest Haji Husein Alireza dealership.
