New-generation Honda Amaze Coming Towards The End Of The Year!

New-generation Honda Amaze Coming Towards The End Of The Year!

SAUDI ARABIA : Disappointing news for Honda fans! While Honda was supposed to launch the 3rd generation of the Amaze in October, the launch has now been pushed to December 2024.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Will the new Amaze have any updates in terms of safety features?

The article doesn't mention specific safety features, but it's likely that the new Amaze will have some updates in this area.
  • Will the Amaze have any design changes?

The exterior design is expected to remain largely the same, with some minor aesthetic updates.
    • We expect the new generation of the Amaze to have the new-gen City’s underpinnings
    • It’s unlikely that Honda will change the much-loved 1.2-liter engine that makes 90PS and about 110Nm of peak torque
    • Honda has discontinued diesel engines, meaning the new Amaze will only be on sale with petrol powertrains

    Exterior Highlights

On the outside, we don’t think Honda will change much with the Amaze and its family-friendly, conservative design will likely continue. While that is not exactly a bad thing, we wish Honda would give it at least some aesthetic updates. Given how sleek modern-day cars look, the Amaze does look slightly bland in comparison. On the whole, the new generation of the Amaze will still have the slightly compact sedan look that we are so familiar with.

As for the underpinnings, the Amaze will make use of the Honda City’s new platform. Of course, the Amaze is much shorter than the City and changes will be made to the City’s platform. We just hope that it doesn’t alter what the City is always known to be, a fun car to drive. How that will help though, is by saving costs for the Japanese manufacturer.

    Interior Technology

Features is one department where we think Honda could go a bit bold. The Amaze never had an amazing amount of features but the new generation might just be more impressive. We expect to see a larger screen with more features. Given how good Honda is with platform sharing, the brand might just use the larger touchscreen console that we’ve already seen on the Elevate. That isn’t exactly an issue since Elevate’s console is a likable one.

    Performance

Mechanically we don’t think Honda will change the Amaze. It will retain the 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine that makes about 90PS and 110Nm of peak torque. As for the transmission options, there will likely be a CVT and a manual on offer. And if you’re wondering about the fuel, Honda has gotten rid of Diesel engines in India and hence the Amaze will get only petrol engines.

    Launch & Availability

December 2024 is when Honda will launch the new generation of the Amaze, trying to capitalize on the festive season. Deliveries for the car should ideally begin towards early 2025.
