- As for the brand-new Mercedes CLA, 2025 is the year that it’ll globally debut
- Seeing the way the luxury EV market has been expanding, Mercedes would want a piece of that pie
These two upcoming electric models will be positioned within what Mercedes-Benz refers to as its 'core luxury' segment—a space currently occupied by models like the CLE and the E-Class on a global scale. The CLE has already made its debut, while the all-new, long-wheelbase (LWB) E-Class is scheduled for launch shortly.
At the entry-level, Mercedes-Benz’s lineup will include the CLA coupe sedan along with the GLA and GLC SUVs, all of which will be built on the brand-new MMA platform. As mentioned earlier, the all-new CLA which was only showcased in the concept version at the Munich Motor Show last year is expected to be launched in 2025. For the execution of these more advanced features and technologies among other upgrades, Mercedes-Benz is expected to add a hint of expense to these entry models.
While announcing its Q2 earnings call, Mercedes-Benz, also spelled out new ambitious goals of raising the share of its high-margin ‘premium’ cars by 60 percent across the world targeting the AMG performance cars and the G-Class.
Mercedes-Benz’s Loyalty to Combustion Engines in the Course of Large-Scale Electro Mobility
Although Mercedes-Benz has embarked on a very aggressive expansion into the electric car segment, it has been quick to inform its consumers that it still has its eye on the provision of internal combustion-engine automobiles around the world.
