Lamborghini Urus Recalled Over This Safety Reason!

SAUDI ARABIA : Lamborghini is recalling its Urus SUV models due to a potentially severe issue: the hood may detach either partially or entirely when the vehicle is at high speeds. This recall affects 2023 and 2024 model-year vehicles. The issue lies with the rivets that secure the hood latch strikers, which may not have been correctly installed. If these rivets fail, the hood latch strikers can come loose, causing the hood to open unexpectedly while driving. In some cases, this could even lead to the hood detaching from the vehicle.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Why did Lamborghini Australia recall the Urus SUV?

Lamborghini Australia recalled the Urus SUV due to a potential bonnet latch issue, which might enable it to detach or open while driving.
  • LamborghiniThe problem stems from the air pressure that builds up under the hood while the vehicle is in motion. This pressure increases stress on the hood’s locking system, which, due to its potential for failure, might allow the hood to tilt upward. Such an occurrence could obstruct the driver's view by blocking the windshield and possibly damage the windshield itself.

This situation presents a significant safety risk not only to the vehicle's occupants but also to other road users if the hood were to detach entirely. Lamborghini identified this defect after investigating two separate warranty claims that reported a misaligned hood.

To date, the manufacturer has not recorded any accidents or injuries related to this issue. To address the problem, dealers will inspect the hoods and replace any faulty parts to ensure the hood is securely fastened. These repairs will be carried out at no cost to the vehicle owners. Lamborghini has announced that it will send notification letters to owners starting June 28.

LamborghiniThe Lamborghini Urus is a standout in the luxury SUV market, combining Lamborghini's iconic performance and design with the practicality of an SUV. In fact, it has been Lamborghini’s best selling car for quite a while now. While its hypercars are exciting, exotic and extremely thrilling, what eventually ensures that Lamborghini has the funds to continue making those are the sales of the Urus.

That said, the Urus is no slouch either and this SUV can reach a top speed of more than 300 kmph, something that not many SUVs can do.
