Hyundai Palisade’s Next Generation Model Coming By Early 2025

SAUDI ARABIA : Hyundai’s flagship SUV, the Palisade, is poised for a comprehensive model overhaul. Initially slated for a global unveiling by mid to late next year, the plans for introducing the new-generation SUV have been expedited. The Palisade is now set to enter series production by the end of 2024, with a global debut anticipated early next year.2

The Palisade holds a prominent position in Hyundai's lineup, garnering significant popularity across various markets. It competes with its badge-engineered sibling, the Kia Telluride, and the recently unveiled Toyota Grand Highlander. The new Palisade has been in development for a considerable period and is expected to offer a more premium and stylish experience than its predecessor. This enhancement is inspired by the benchmark set by the latest-generation Santa Fe SUV, known for its luxurious interior and distinctive exterior design.

The growing demand for petrol-hybrid vehicles in numerous international markets has prompted Hyundai to accelerate the production timeline for the Palisade. The upcoming model will feature the new Theta 3 hybrid powertrain, reflecting the automaker's commitment to hybrid technology. The next-generation Palisade will be equipped with Hyundai’s new flagship Theta engine lineup. The first in this series will be an all-new 2.5-liter turbo-petrol engine with a robust hybrid powertrain, replacing the older Lambda series of engines, which lacked hybrid assistance.

Given the increasing shift towards hybrid vehicles, Hyundai is expected to expand its portfolio of petrol-hybrid models on a global scale. As previously reported, the carmaker plans to introduce hybrid powertrains for its range of SUVs and sedans by 2027, including models such as the Creta, Alcazar, Verna, and Tucson.

What will be interesting to see is the way Hyundai manages to strike a nice balance between cost and efficiency. Giving a bigger battery for more range will obviously result in a higher production cost, so that’s a balance that Hyundai will have to manage rather well.

This strategic move underscores Hyundai's commitment to sustainability and innovation, aiming to meet the rising demand for eco-friendly vehicles while maintaining its competitive edge in the global automotive market. The accelerated timeline for the new Palisade's production and debut signifies Hyundai's proactive approach to adapting to market trends and consumer preferences.

The enhanced features and hybrid technology of the new Palisade are expected to solidify its position as a leading contender in the full-size SUV segment, appealing to a broader audience seeking a blend of performance, luxury, and environmental consciousness.
