SAUDI ARABIA : The latest iteration of the Honda Freed MPV has been unveiled in Japan. The all-new Freed MPV will now come with a better angular and sharper design equivalent to the larger StepWGN, cultivating interior space and the essence of modernity. The design of the shorter hood outlying optimizes interior space. 

The practical MPV has been playing a vital role in the Japanese automobile industry since 2008. It has evolved to its third generation following the similar chassis as transmitted in the well-known Honda HR-V, Jazz and City. The specifications are yet to be disclosed. However, potential buyers have two different design configurations. The first one comes with an elegant and minimalist exterior design named the Air Package and the second edition boasts a more muscular appearance with precise front-end styling, added body cladding, expanded ground clearance, and unique wheels named Crosstar. 

The redesigned interior of Freed MPV concentrates on spaciousness. Cabin space is maximized as it has a pushed-back dashboard. Physical controls are well-placed which enhances the practicality, and wide range of cubby space, to deliver modernity and familiarity it offers a large central screen. Proposing five and six-seater layouts and the central aisle enables effortless moments. With its big size, the third-generation Freed is expected to surpass its predecessor, presenting expanded dimensions. It is barely smaller than BR-V and its design and layouts are optimised to extend passenger and cargo rooms. 

Freed offers both petrol hybrid and petrol versions. Honda has not revealed the detailed powertrain. The base model offers a 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine associated with a CVT gearbox. Another variant provides the Honda’s e: HEV hybrid technology, paired up with a 1.5-liter petrol engine with two electric motors.

Detailed specifications and pricing of the all-new Freed Air and Freed Crosstar are likely to be publicized in June 2024, closer to their release in the Japanese market.
