Ford Equator Images Surface Online Right Before Its Official Launch

SAUDI ARABIA: Ford is gearing up to soon introduce the updated version of its Equator SUV, signaling a significant advancement in its global lineup. Even before its official debut, leaked images of the SUV have surfaced online, creating quite a buzz.

Sitting above the Ford Everest (known as the Endeavour in some markets), the Equator epitomizes Ford’s commitment to excellence in the competitive SUV segment. Designed with meticulous attention to detail, the refreshed Equator will be manufactured at the JMC-Ford joint venture plant in China, ensuring top-notch precision and quality.

The facelifted Equator boasts a refined front fascia, featuring sleek LED headlamps and a more compact grille that together create a striking visual impact. The rear has been enhanced with updated LED tail lamps and a redesigned bumper, further boosting its aesthetic appeal. While the side profile remains largely unchanged, the introduction of new alloy wheel designs adds a touch of modernity. Honestly, the Ford Equator looks stunning, to say the least in these images. The headlights do somewhat remind us of the Endeavour and that is a great thing because the Endeavour had fantastic road presence. Hence, we expect this Equator to have the same.

Though specifics about the interior are still under wraps, there is speculation that the updated Equator might incorporate the 27-inch infotainment display currently seen in the Ford Evos crossover, promising a state-of-the-art in-car experience.

One of the most notable upgrades in the refreshed Equator is its powertrain. It will feature a plug-in hybrid system that pairs a 1.5-liter petrol engine, generating 150 hp, with an electric motor that adds another 82 hp, culminating in a total output of approximately 218 hp. This hybrid system utilizes a battery supplied by CATL. Additionally, there is an option for a 1.5-liter EcoBoost petrol engine, capable of producing around 170 hp and 260 Nm of torque.

Ford is expected to release more details about the updated Equator as its launch in the Chinese market approaches, building anticipation among enthusiasts and potential buyers alike.
