All-New 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron: What To Expect?

The all-new 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron was unveiled for the Middle East market in the UAE in October 2024. The event was held at two glamorous locations in the country – Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi and Dubai’s Museum of the Future. Upon its launch in Q1 2025, the premium electric SUV will be available in Q6 & SQ6 avatars.

The starting price of the 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron and 2025 Audi SQ6 E-Tron in the GCC market is USD 79,194 and USD 93,399, respectively. These prices include the registration fee and 5 years roadside assistance but not UAE’s 5 percent VAT. Meanwhile, Audi’s updated nomenclature for its cars could see the Q6 E-Tron eventually replacing the ICE Q5.

Exterior

Audi designs have been known for their intricate and advanced lighting systems, and the all-new Q6 E-Tron is no different. A first in the brand’s history, the headlights of the 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron have been split into two separate units. There is a contemporary & sleek top portion that comprises the dynamic turn indicators and LED DRLs with animation.

The rectangular bottom portion comprises the Advanced Digital Matrix headlights with Audi’s digital LED technology, capable of choreographed light displays. The sealed Singleframe grille is just the right size and gets blacked-out Four Rings. This black finish is applied to the bumpers, headlight housing, ORVM housing, door trim, window frames, tailgate, and the brand logos as well.

The flared fenders and shoulder ridges are inspired by the original Audi Quattro, while the rear gets the so-called "quattro blisters". The wheels look attractive – the SQ6 E-Tron has a sportier design with S-branded calipers. The black detailing enhances the sportiness of the all-new Q6 E-Tron. Meanwhile, its muscle-toned stance and poised demeanor portray balanced sophistication with typical Audi restraint.

At the rear are the unique OLED taillights. These fabulous lights look the part and can perform several cool animations. The 3D elements within them are already eye-catching, but some markets will get the even fancier customizable digital OLED taillights with 360 individual segments. Customers can choose from eight digital light signatures! However, these are unlikely to come to KSA.

The 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron is 4,771 mm long, up to 2,193 mm wide & 1,702 mm tall. The Q6 E-Tron has a curb weight of 2,325 kg and a wheelbase of 2,899 mm. Its main luggage capacity is 526-1,529 liters, while the SQ6 E-Tron’s is 514-1,517 liters. Both have 64 liters of additional luggage capacity under the hood.

Interior

Many portions of the all-new Q6 E-Tron’s interior utilize an Alcantara-like material that Audi calls Softwrap. It is a high-quality & sustainable fabric blend made from recycled materials, which can even be found covering the seats and headliners. There is no shortage of soft touchpoints in this premium cabin, with stitched Nappa leather and Birchwood veneer making their presence felt.

The Q6 E-Tron’s seats are nice and cushy with light upholstery, while the S-branded seats in the SQ6 E-Tron have dark upholstery. Where one offers a relaxed and airy experience, the latter projects dynamic verve and sportiness. Audi has replaced many of the traditional physical controls on the doors and steering wheel with capacitive-touch buttons.

While they look modern and allow carmakers to integrate multiple functionalities, they can be finicky to use while driving. The cabin also makes use of high-gloss trim in the center console area, which will end up with smudges and scratches sooner or later. For the most part, the interior build quality and overall design look and feel upmarket.

The roof of the Q6 E-Tron does not slope much, meaning the headroom at the back is more than sufficient. There is adequate room under the front seats for passengers to stretch out a little, while the backrest angle of the seats is reasonably good too. However, the massive front headrests severely restrict the forward visibility of the rear-seat passengers.

Features

The wraparound effect of the Q6 E-Tron’s cabin is personified by the dual curved digital displays at the front. These encompass the Virtual Cockpit Plus and MMI Touch systems, both of which are central to the new Audi experience. The 11.9-inch & 14.5-inch OLED displays look nice and contrasty with sharp graphics and are devoid of lag.

There is also a 10.9-inch MMI front-passenger touchscreen display, which can be used to access the infotainment system. Meanwhile, the system itself runs on Android Automotive OS. This explains the fluid operation and its user-friendly nature. The Q6 E-Tron gets an Audi virtual assistant with Chat GPT integration, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, and streaming services like Spotify and YouTube.

Apart from that, there is tri-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, rear sunblinds, heated & ventilated seats, a wireless charging pad, and multi-color LED ambient lighting. Using various colors and its placement under the windscreen, the dynamic light strip provides the driver with visual warnings and alerts.

The Q6 E-Tron comes with a 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system that delivers crisp and detailed 3D sound. Moreover, its headrest-integrated speakers deliver navigation instructions and even allow the front occupants to have a phone conversation. The Audi SQ6 E-Tron features S branding on the headrests, scuff plates, steering wheel, and even in the MMI display.

Its other unique touches include S sports suspension, S-tuned e-tron sports sound, and black-painted brake calipers with S lettering. All models come with extendable front under-thigh support for better comfort and center armrest storage for front & rear occupants. One of the Audi Q6 E-Tron’s safety highlights is its augmented reality head-up display (AR HUD) feature.

Like most HUDs, this one shows the driver turn-by-turn navigation instructions, posted speed limits, and the vehicle’s current speed. However, the AR HUD also displays virtual symbols, directions & alerts as a dynamic overlay in your field of vision. The Audi EV’s other safety tech includes 360-degree cameras, adaptive cruise control with obstacle detection, and auto-emergency braking.

The Audi Q6 E-Tron has blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-departure prevention, traction control, and electronic stability management. It also gets a driver attention & fatigue monitoring system, a camera-based traffic sign recognition system, plus swerve assist and turn assist.

Powertrain and performance

At the core of the 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron is the 800-volt Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture. The culmination of a partnership between Porsche and Audi, the advanced PPE architecture enables the Q6 E-Tron to outperform its 400-volt precursors. It further allows compatible technologies like high-power charging (HPC) to be used more effectively.

The all-new Audi Q6 E-Tron can accept DC fast-charging up to 270 kW. This means that the batteries can be charged from 10-80 percent SoC in about 21 minutes. Leaving the Q6 E-Tron connected to such a fast charger for just 10 minutes should result in up to 255 kilometers. The standard household AC charging speed is 11 kW.

When fitted with a 100-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Q6 E-Tron has a range of up to 625 kilometers (WLTP). Meanwhile, the maximum WLTP range of the Audi SQ6 E-Tron is up to 598 kilometers. The Q6 E-Tron uses two electric motors generating a total output of up to 285 kW (382 hp).

The dual motors in the SQ6 E-Tron produce 360 kW (483 hp), so 0-100 kmph comes up in 4.3 seconds. The standard model is slower still, taking 5.9 seconds to hit 100 kmph even with Launch Control enabled. All variants of the 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron have an electronically limited top speed of 210 kmph.

Conclusion

The 2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron is not as quick as some might expect such a premium electric SUV to be. However, it boasts good range, the adaptive air suspension results in a plush ride, and the state-of-the-art tech is fantastic. The Q6 E-Tron is also a good-looking car, while its cabin is quiet and roomy.
