Volvo Announces Major Tech Upgrades for 2026 Models in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia : Volvo is set to introduce significant technological enhancements across its 2026 model lineup in Saudi Arabia, aiming to elevate user experience and vehicle performance. 

• Introduction of the new-generation Volvo Car UX across multiple models.
• Integration of the ultra-fast Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform for enhanced infotainment responsiveness.
• Implementation of Plug & Charge service in select electric models for seamless public charging.

In a move to enhance driving experience and technological integration, Volvo has announced two major upgrades for its 2026 models in Saudi Arabia. These advancements focus on a revamped user interface and improved infotainment system performance, reflecting Volvo's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.

Revamped User Experience: Volvo Car UX

Volvo introduces its new-generation user experience, known as Volvo Car UX, to models including the XC40, EX40, EC40, S60, V60, V60 Cross Country, V90, and V90 Cross Country. This interface, already featured in the EX30, EX90, and new XC90, offers a more focused and personalized interaction with the vehicle's infotainment system. Key features include:

• Intuitive home screen: Frequently used apps and features such as maps, media, and phone are prominently displayed for quick access.
• Contextual bar: This dynamic bar adapts to the driving situation, displaying relevant apps and recently used functions.
• Enhanced driver display: Located behind the steering wheel, it now offers a larger and clearer navigation view, aiding in safer driving.

Volvo plans to roll out this updated interface to millions of vehicles equipped with Google built-in, including models produced as early as 2020, through over-the-air software updates. 

Enhanced Infotainment with Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform

To complement the new user interface, Volvo is integrating the next-generation Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. into its 2026 models. This upgrade significantly boosts the performance of the infotainment system, making it more than twice as fast as the previous version and enhancing graphics generation up to tenfold. The result is a more responsive and intuitive system, reducing driver distraction and promoting safer driving.

Seamless Charging with Plug & Charge

For electric vehicle owners, Volvo is introducing the Plug & Charge service in the EX30, EX40, and EC40 models in Europe, with expectations of its availability in Saudi Arabia. This feature simplifies the public charging process by allowing drivers to:

• Automatic authentication: Upon connecting to a compatible charging station, the system automatically recognizes the vehicle and initiates charging without the need for additional cards or authentication.
• Hassle-free payment: Payments are processed seamlessly through the system, enhancing convenience for users.

Drivers can easily locate compatible charging stations using Google Maps integrated into the car's center display or via the Volvo Cars app.
