Upcoming Electric Mini Cooper Car Leaked Right Before Its Launch!

SAUDI ARABIA : The leaked car looks like a Mini Cooper: small and boxy. We expect the car to have a rated range of around 401km. 

• As per reports the car will get the same 49.2kWh battery pack 
• As for the range, it could be WLTP-rated at around 400 km
• This hatchback will also do a top speed of nearly 300 kmph! 

Both of the new JCW models come with a variety of bold design features that enhance their sporty appeal. These include aggressive side skirts, redesigned bumpers, and 18-inch aerodynamic wheels, particularly on the hatchback version, all of which contribute to the vehicle's performance-oriented stance. 

The exterior finishes also stand out, with striking contrasts such as blacked-out pillars and a darker nose, giving the cars a more menacing look. Inside, the cabin is expected to be just as sporty, featuring body-hugging seats designed to complement the car’s dynamic character. 

Powertrains

Though the MIIT has yet to disclose official battery specifications, it's widely expected that the JCW will be equipped with the same 49.2 kWh battery pack found in the Cooper SE, which offers a range of approximately 401 km on the WLTP cycle. However, given the JCW’s more powerful 258 hp motor mounted on the front axle, it's likely that the range will be slightly reduced to account for the extra performance. 

According to Mini, the electric JCW hatchback can reach a top speed of around 200kmph, and its acceleration from 0-100km h is expected to be even quicker than the SE’s already impressive 6.7 seconds. The Paceman JCW, which shares the same 258 hp motor, tips the scales at 1,768 kg, making it 98 kg heavier than its hatchback counterpart. 

Despite the additional weight, it still offers comparable performance. Detailed specifications for both models remain under wraps, leaving enthusiasts to speculate on the final numbers.

Launch & Availability

As in most countries, China has established laws that demand that a motor vehicle manufacturer provide design information and technical data as a precondition for the motor vehicle to be marketable to the general public. 

New filings from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have given an early glimpse of the completely all-electric Mini John Cooper Works hatchback which gives the idea of what could be one of the most thrilling launches in the performance car segment marketplace. 

What these documents do however provide is hope and a sneak peek into what the car might be capable of, more information on its availability and when it will officially be launched is eagerly anticipated.
