Renault 5 Turbo 3E: The Most Powerful Renault Ever, Coming to the Middle East

SAUDI ARABIA : Renault has officially unveiled the production-ready Renault 5 Turbo 3E, its most powerful car to date. This high-performance electric hatchback will launch in the Middle East, Europe, and Japan.
- Renault 5 Turbo 3E delivers 536 hp and an incredible 4,800 Nm of torque at the wheels.
- Lightweight carbon fiber construction keeps the car at just 1,450 kg.
- Ultra-fast 800V charging allows for 65% charge in only 15 minutes.
- Limited production of 1,980 units, with deliveries set for 2027.
Renault’s Most Powerful Hatchback Yet
Renault has confirmed that the Renault 5 Turbo 3E is its most powerful production car ever. Designed as a tribute to the iconic Renault 5 Turbo, this modern electric hot hatch combines a retro-inspired design with cutting-edge performance. The car was first revealed as a concept, but Renault has now released full details on its production version, set to hit roads in the Middle East, Europe, and Japan.
Unlike the standard Renault 5, which features a front-wheel-drive layout and five seats, the Turbo 3E is a two-seater, rear-wheel-drive performance machine built for pure driving excitement.
Blistering Performance & Power
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E packs two electric motors on the rear axle, producing a combined 536 horsepower. While its 4,800 Nm of torque may seem extreme, this figure represents torque at the wheels, with actual motor torque being around 10% of that number.
Ultra-Lightweight & Fast Charging
To offset the weight of the high-capacity battery, Renault has extensively used carbon fiber in both the interior and exterior, bringing the car’s weight down to 1,450 kg.
One of its standout features is its 800-volt platform, which enables ultra-fast charging. Using a compatible charger, the Turbo 3E can regain 65% of its battery capacity in just 15 minutes—a major advantage for performance EVs.
Limited Production & Global Availability
Renault has confirmed that it will produce just 1,980 units of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, paying homage to the original Renault 5 Turbo launched in 1980. Orders for this limited-edition electric hot hatch will open in the coming weeks, with deliveries set to begin in 2027.
