New Hybrid Engines From Hyundai To Launch In Coming Years

SAUDI ARABIA : 2 years from now, Hyundai will show us its new lineup of hybrid engines, with their launch being slated for early 2027. Hybrid means the cars will have an electric motor that will work in conjunction with a normal internal combustion engine. 

• As for the range figures, they could be nearing the 950-1000 km mark
• That is obviously because the cars can get the best of both worlds 
• Hyundai has said that the cars might even get 2 electric motors paired to 1 engine

Performance/Mileage

Speaking of series hybrid systems which are also known as “range extenders” the work of internal combustion engines (ICE) is completely different. Contrary to its name, the ICE is not directly powering the wheels but is almost like an electric generator that produces electricity that is used to recharge the car’s electric motor that is in charge of powering the wheels.

This configuration brings a notable benefit in its cost-effectiveness because fewer, but larger batteries are not required. The system is of a kind such that it optimizes the efficiency of an electric motor to achieve better fuel economy and less emissions while at the same time achieving the best performance. It is an innovative approach to reconcile or attack what electric mobility seeks while also offering the certainty of internal combustion technology.

Engine Options

Hyundai has some ambitious goals in the pipeline especially for the next decade or so with a major jump in its hybrid systems in the works in 2026. Hyundai planned to introduce its innovative series of hybrid technology at the 2024 CEO Investor Day; the company said that the first model should be out in the global market by 2027. This new Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) technology is one great amalgamation of electric motors and internal combustion engines with an estimated combined range of slightly over 900 km.

Launch & Availability

Anticipating the year 2030, Hyundai has shifted gears for increasing its production of hybrid cars adding that Hyundai will expand its hybrid range from seven to fourteen models. This expansion will include such fine amenities as luxury products under the Genesis brand, which will also respond to several customer needs. By the end of the decade, Hyundai also plans to offer a total of 21 electric car models ranging from sports to entry-level cars and luxury models.
