Jaguar's Bold Transition to an All-Electric Lineup Amidst Uncertain EV Market

SAUDI ARABIA : That Jaguar is to go all-electric rather shortly does not seem to be a far-fetched vision anymore, as the brand has recently outlined its plans to introduce an electric car concept by the end of December 2024. We believe that this new EV will be loaded with new technologies and possibly have a new design aesthetic.

    • Jaguar’s commitment despite the global drop in demand for EVs is impressive

In the wake of the uncertainty about the demand for electric vehicles we can witness Jaguar’s determination to switch entirely to electric cars in the following year. The company is closer to a radical restructuring: It plans to replace all models in the lineup and show a concept car that will define the further evolution of the brand.

    Jaguar'sNew EV platform

Jaguar's forthcoming generation of vehicles will mark a sharp departure from anything that has come before, differing dramatically in appearance, technology, and market positioning. The brand has remained tight-lipped about the specifics, offering only cryptic hints, describing the upcoming models as a "copy of nothing," leaving much to the imagination regarding their design and features.

    Launch and availability

However, all speculation will rest in December when Jaguar unveils a groundbreaking new concept. This concept car is expected to provide a clear preview of Jaguar's first EV of this new era: a four-door grand tourer (GT) boasting a range of over 435 miles, ultra-fast charging capabilities, and a dual-motor powertrain delivering upwards of 575 horsepower.

Jaguar'sThis new concept will not only introduce the inaugural GT. Still, it will also establish the design language for Jaguar's future models, including an SUV set to rival the Bentley Bentayga and a limousine comparable in size to the Flying Spur.

Both of these models are to be available in showrooms by 2028. Even as other luxury car makers have begun to moderate their agendas to go all-electric due to slow sales of expensive electric vehicles, Jaguar has stuck to its guns to build electric cars only.

For example, Porsche intends to persist with the petrol Cayenne beyond 2030, Audi is about to greatly increase the electrification of its models, and Mercedes-Benz has opted to drag out the lifetime of several PHEVs because of the unsatisfactory EV sales.
